Induction into the Wakesports Hall of Fame as an athlete reflects true dedication and conviction to being the best rider you can be while progressing the sport in the process, a description that concisely describes our next celebrant. She was only 9 when she realized wakeboarding was her passion’s calling and she was forever focused on realizing just how good of a wakeboarder she could become. As an amateur her accent of the rankings was as quick and steady as her progression as an athlete, culminating with a Junior Women’s World Championship before stepping into the Pro Women’s ranks. The transition proved to be an incredibly smooth one, as her first season on the US Women’s Pro Tour saw her celebrated with a 2nd place overall finish and Rookie of the Year honors to further compliment her efforts. She also frequently competed on the biggest of stages like the X Games and Gravity Games and also competed internationally throughout her career with several competition “firsts” to her credit like a heel mobe, crow mobe and 313 successfully landed in competition. She was also constantly giving back to the sport through her involvement in supporting amateur events through judging, coaching and making the experience a positive one for all on the water when she was around. We welcome into the Wakesports hall of Fame, Ms. Christy Smith Hutchins.
