A pioneer of the Australian riders ripping on the global wakeboarding scene, Daniel Watkins relentless dedication was a key asset during both his pro riding career as well as his current industry involvement. His run started as a show skier near his home of the Gold Coast. He leapt at the chance to join the show team at Sea World in San Diego, allowing him to compete on the Pro Wakeboard Tour where he quickly became an impactful riding with his consistent and highly technical riding. In the early 2000’s Daniel would return to Australia when the Pro Tour ended in North America and helped produce the Australian Pro Wakeboard Tour. This kept Daniel both sharp as a rider along with began the true cultivation of the Australian pro talent pool. His skills earned him several wins on the US Pro Wakeboard Tour and three Australian Pro Tour overall championships among many other career highlights. After retiring as a pro rider, Daniel continued to pioneer for wakeboarding in Australia creating events the Urban Rider Winch Tour, opening a Tige Dealership and Pro Shop and his greatest accomplishment, opening the Gold Coast Wake Park.
